ive been toying around with the idea of running nos kit on my 406 sbc maybe a 250shot .i was woundering how much timing i should run and if i should run a seprite fuel system and how much fuel presure. thank you
You should definitely run a separate fuel system. The worse thing you can do is starve a nitrous motor for fuel.
How much fuel pressure depends on the kit. I have a NX Gemini Quad Plate System. I run my fuel pressure carb between 6 1/2 - 7 psi and the nitrous fuel pressure between 9 - 9 1/2 psi
thank you i tried it be fore and pop the top of the piston off the carb had some shit in it and it went lean and havent tried it sents i just didnt know enuff about it
better to take out to much then to little when it comes to timing and a Nos motor
I wouldn't go out there with 250 on the 1st hit either.
better to take baby steps when it comes to spraying then going for the BIG #
fuel pressure without knowing what kit you are using gonna be tough call.
I would run either one big pump or 2 fuel systems
My advice take it or leave it
I have been using 2 per 50 rule for 10 years and hasn't failed me yet. When you pull out too much timing without using a crank trigger you run the risk a misfire. There is nothing wrong with a 250 shot to start with as long as the motor and suspension can handle it. When I started my first shot was a 200 shot. If the motor can't handle it or you are afraid of the power you should be behind the wheel. You should never be afraid of it but have all the respect for it in the world.

Hey gooroo,I spray a 350 big shot plate and I don't have any issues with the power The ploblem I have is with tires I am using a googyear 29x10.0x15 caltracs dragshock ect. I am trying to spray from the gate and it spins about 50-60 feet out any suggestions on a tire?I do not want to use a progressive controller as they are rough on the solenoids.
