how much jiuce are you gana spray when we run? your gana need it!!! LOL! just fkn wit ya!
150 shot right now and yes I will need it. My car is a dog without the juice. My fastest run on motor is 11.37 @ 125mph on juice 9.31 @ 149mph. Powerglides with a small block needs juice.
i need to experiment with it 1st. its cheap hp but i dont have any experience with it at all. i cant afford 2 motors in 1 year! i was thinking of a pro charger, what do you know bout them? anything?
On a NOS plate system does it matter if the fuel selonoid(sp?) is in the back or the front? The directions say to have the plate with the nos logo facing up witch would put it in the rear but that would make life a pain in the ass with getting the fuel line to it. The pic shows it in the front. I'm assuming that as long as the spray bar is facing down I should be all set? That make any sense at all?
I have 2 nitrous kits and plan to use at least one of them this season along with some additional bolt on mods.
#1.) is a dyno tune 75 dry that I got from a guy running it on the same basic setup as my car (mild bolt on 3800 SC FWD regal gs) but with around 400 pounds removed with 12.1 @115 for results
this system has a supply plate & nozzle that mounts between the throttle body & SC , pressure regulating bottle warmer , MSD window switch - currently chipped for 3200-5800 , I would probably tighten the window to 3600-5200 or so to be sure its not spraying during shifts or when I am trying to get moving from a stop
my biggest concern with this kit is the location of the plate means it is spraying after the maf instead of spraying across the maf so it can ask for additional fueling , am I thinking straight on this ?? I am guessing this kit would be a good starting point to eventually convert to wet after I revamp my fuel system and increase the shot ? (stock 3800 short blocks have held together into the 8's !!)
#2.)this kit I am more likely to use soon due to its ease of install , spraying pre maf so fueling will be compensated , and coming with some smaller jets to start out with , as well as portability between my vehicles.
its Compucars bottle in a bag dry kit where everything is mounted to a peice of plywood in a gym bag and you power it by plugging into the cig. lighter and run tubing up into the intake/or airbox to spray pre maf. Its supposed to be something like 20,40,60,80,100 shot dry - I would be running the 40 first and then the 60 if my injector duty cycle etc..on scan logs from the 40 shot looks like I can.
I would probably set up multiple vehicles with the tubing allready in place
my only past experience running nitrous was early 90's when I ran NOS 125 wet shot on my 88 monte ss to run 13.7 @ 104 on stock 305 - my uncle has that car today and runs 12.2 on street tires with 383 stroker no juice
any direction or insight from the guru would be appreciated , at this point mostly looking for what I need to know about spraying pre-vs. post maf runnnig closed loop with maf in play. Probably gave more info then you need for that but wanted to paint the full picture to get an accurate answer.

You should always upgrade your fuel system before installing ANY nitrous kit. Nitrous oxide doesn’t add any power on its own; it simply allows a means for your engine to burn more fuel, thus creating more power. If you don't have a big enough fuel pump or injectors you can lean it out and burn a piston.
I stay away from dry kits. They are a pain-in-the-ass to tune. It can take months to get it right. Sometimes you have to increase the injector size to make up the extra fuel. If you plan on putting a wet kit in it anyway do it now. Alot of the tuning information you get from the dry kit will be useless when you change to a wet kit. What changes that work with a dry kit don't always work with a wit kit. Plus if you spend the money on bigger injectors they might be to big for a wet kit.
so you would even have concerns if I am spraying as small as a 40 shot pre maf and monitoring my 02's via wideband , commanding a relatively rich afr like 11 to 1 and keeping an eye that my injectors/fueling is not maxing out ?
I do plan on at least a fuel pump rewire before starting to spray and am looking at pump options
I also have fuel skewed to provide more fuel to the pistons that are prone to issues allready (center cylinders)

thanks for the input btw
If you can monitor all that, that is good. Fuel pressure is another thing you want to monitor. You don't want your tune too rich. I have had it were my tune was too rich and I blowing flames out the exhaust. 12:1 is where you want to be. You will also have to pull timing out. Tuner, clip, laptop what ever you use to tune the car. 2 deg per 50 hp with 2 deg min. You might want to step down on you plugs to a colder plug when you are running nitrous. If possible you might want to get non-restrictor race plug.

Taking these percautions will save you motor.
the car is supercharged so without any juice 11.2-11.7 is what is recommended by the top 3800 tuners for WOT fueling. I was thinking a bit richer to be safe
I did plan to pull timing but thanks for giving me an idea how muchto pull. KR ( knock retard) is the most closely monitored part of the tune on these cars. I will develop a nos tune just like I have a tune with increased timing for race fuel. I use hp tuners and a reflash (write calibration only) takes under a minute so I can tweak in the staging lanes
I always run copper core autolite plugs 2 ranges colder - I do get good results with wider gaps than most run but I know I need to tighten them up if spraying - is there an accepted amount or percentage to close them up based on shot size or hp % increase ?
btw this is my 182,000 mile daily driver I commute from Maine to Mass 6 days a week with getting 30 mpg I do have back up cars though for when the inevitable hapens
goal this spring is mid 12's on spray 12.9 without , eventual goal would be just shy of being told it needs a bar in it
thanks for all your help

if you want to spray it with a small dry shot it looks like I will be there wednesday night on a stepped down shot from what I have been running in the silver gtp on one of my other cars.
so hang around for street night action and we can throw the kit on your car for a pass or 2 - it takes 10 minutes to move to a different car , it will be a .42 jet in it for the night instead of the .86 I have been using , maybe throw some larger jets in the secondaries to add some fuel for the little shot ?
do you have only an open element air breather ? we will need a way to get the spray bar placed and a snorkel type will be easier
