I like holley the best,I ran a few Edelbrocks,And i got better performance from rochester quadrajet,And then went to a holley and never looked back,Hands down Holley for the win.
I had a few holleys but the only one that ran good was one that we built with a proform main body and billet metering blocks.I am not a fan of edelbrocks either once those went on the car it ran like crap.
working in the marine industry i can tell you edelbrocks & boats dont mix whenever someone comes in that has installed an edelbrock and has running issues we ask if they still have the holley ? then rebuild the holley and it runs right again
I have auto mechanic friends that say the same thing for the most part , but do have one mechanic friend that loves them that is on here - so I am sure he will be in here to defend them soon !!
the pro system dominator on my 555 has been great, cust. service is awsome. the demon that i had was horrible. great design but no quality control down there. where they tapped the float bowl screws the tap broke through the main body and gas leaked down into my motor each time i shut it down. that was the cause of it running rich at idle. i have an aed 850 holley carb for my 455 buick that i will try out.
I voted for the Holley because they make more power but, as Kieth said, I am here to defend the Edelbrock, I think they are just misunderstood, once they are tuned correctly they hold that tune very well, they also work very well in pairs
