ok on my parts car. the guy i bought it off of said he pulled a 302 out of it. but on the vin tag on a website said its was born with a 2.3L. and i was told it has a 8.8 in it. i compare my 7.5 to the one on the 89 and the rear end in the 89 the pumkin and axles housing are larger than mine on the 80. and i took a couple pics so yall can decide as well.

ya ive seen many foxes do wheel stands on 8.8's they are pretty good

8.8s if done correct have been deep in sevens and i think a couple in 6s...i belive its a 8.8 solid foundation

ah cool thanks guys smile its been a while since i built a fox (6 yrs to be correct) the dude i bought the 89 off of said it had a 302/5sp when he got it and pulled the motor and tranny out for a backup for his.

is it a 28 or 31 spline rear? explorers ran a 8.8 with 31 spline axles and disc brakes... thats what i'll be running in my camaro.
