if you add them up with shipping it cost more than a average 10 point from like s@w...also the summit uses 1 3/4 with 1 5/8 im looking for just 1 5/8 for strength and being able to jig notch and get a better weld

i mean a 8 point cage is around 160 $ i think mild steel , it goes up obviously for chromoly or dom .......but by the time you bend it get it and fish mouth it its way easier and cost effective , you should just get a 10 point mild steel cage from jegs you be good

It must be at less 1 5/8 and .134 wall thickness or they will fail you at tech.

For these messurements I went and did some quick messurements off my 10 point in my notch.

You are going to need at least one 12 foot, one 10 foot, two 8 foot and five 6 foot.
If you can get all that for under $300 you are doing ok because you can get a kit from Karl's for about $300 9 times out of 10 his warehouse has them in stock and no shipping.

If you are going to bend you own cage give Karl a call. He has done more cage in mustangs then anyone I know. He did the cages in both my cars.

try dmc or karls or even tube chassis .........someone local even being mild steel ya might be able to beat the shipping freight

ms ....you can mig

C/M will need to be tig welded ...

imo if ya have a source for the tig welder the chromoly is nice if ya gonna try to save every bit but , IM sure Nick will also agree theres a lot of mild steel cage cars out there that are very fast !! also

if i were you get the mild steel , then you and ya dad can install in ya garage with the mig welder

Ya dont have to bring the car to someone that has a tig welder ...travel time gas = money

think about all that and go mild steel ............... If i didnt buy my car with the chromoly cage and was just gonna do a 10 point cage it woulda been ms

my 2 cents danny

I wish mine didn't have one. It might have needed it with the bb and it might when I go turbo but it won't with the stock ls. It sucks getting in and out of but I'm 6'4"

Put swing out on it. Makes it much easier to get in and out of.
