Bought brand new back in 1974 for $3500 and used as a daily driver for 12 years. After that is was used as a backup vehicle until 1994. Now my father-in-law has had this car sitting in his garage with 64000 original miles for the last 18 years. About 2 months ago he ask me if I would help in get it back up and running. The body is really soild. It just needs a couple of patches here and there. I have a friend of mine who restores classic Chevy's working on the body. Due to the fact that it has been sitting for so long I desided to put the 350 motor and TH350 transmission and rebuild them.

Finished tearing the motor down and took it to Karl's. He said the pistons, cylinders and crank are all with spec. Next we are sending the block over to be cleaned and have the main journals checked to see if it needs to be line honed.

I think it needs to be line honed. The block side of 2 3 4 main bearings were down to the copper. All the rest were fine.

Karl rebuilt the motor.
I also got a set of hooker long tube headers for free. I just need to find someone with a bead blast cabinet and a welder I can use. They are pretty rusty and one of the tubes has a crack in it. I am just going to weld it up and bead blast and paint them.
